London Wasps Paul Sampson has been released with immediate.
Sampson joined Wasps in 1996 and quickly became a crowd favourite as one of the fastest players in the game.
Capped three times for England, Sampson went off for a spell playing rugby league with the Wakefield Trinity
Wildcats before coming back south in August 2000 and finishing as the club's top try-scorer.
An injury during the Dubai leg of the IRB World Sevens Series last season meant he missed the latter part of Wasps triumphant 2002/03 season. In November last year, Sampson was loaned out to Bath for three weeks.
His last game for Wasps was during a Zurich A League game against London Irish in December, in which he scored 18 points with the boot.
The directors of ERC voted unanimously at a Board meeting to postpone all decisions including the release of further instalments of ERC's distributable central revenues to the six shareholder countries until 19 February next when the Board will meet again to reconsider the issue.
