But Connolly is not concerned with playing the first leg away from home for the double-header against a side renowned for its forward power.
"We have no problem with the order in which we play the two legs - it makes no difference to us," said Connolly
"I have to say we don't know a great deal about Beziers and we have not studied any tapes of their games yet.
"But they are a forward-orientated side with a strong Georgian influence in their front row and flanker Arnaud Costes is a fine player. Behind the scrum wing and captain Philippe Escalle is also a class player.
"Beziers really did well against Grenoble at the weekend. I would expect an extremely tough encounter on Saturday and we will need to step up a gear if we are to beat them.
"We will probably be forced to travel with six forwards on the replacements bench again as Matt Perry, Mike Catt, Mike Tindall and probably Iain Balshaw will be among those not fit for selection.
"Stade de la Mediterranee is a great stadium - I know it well from my time with Stade Francais - and, hopefully, the weather will have improved from last weekend and we can have a decent game."
