"For a club like Newcastle, to reach the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup for the first time is a terrific achievement. It has caused a great deal of excitement amongst the players and the fans," Burke told ercrugby.com at the draw for the Heineken Cup semi-finals.
Burke was prepared to speculate beyond the tricky trip to France in the next round.
"Even though the semi-final is a little bit down the track it is good to know we will have a home draw if we manage to beat Stade Francais in the quarters.
"There is a very special prize at the end of this tournament, and, who knows, we could even have Jonny Wilkinson back in tow by then.
"The best I ever managed in the Super 12 Tournament was a semi-final - and we got hammered.
"This is a great start in my first season with the Falcons, and it would be fantastic to go all the way to Edinburgh.
"Edinburgh is a must see city, one of my favourite European destinations. The rugby occasions are always terrific and the city always joins the party.
"The life around Edinburgh is tremendous; there is so much to do. I have played their with the Wallabies and I took my wife to Scotland when the Aussies were back in town in November. We spend a week in Edinburgh and had a great time."
