Eddy was the Coaching Director of the Australian Rugby Union's High Performance Unit from 2000 until 2002 and coached the Australian under 21 team to a World Cup Final. From there he spent two years as Coaching Co-ordinator at the ACT Brumbies, winning the Super 12 title with them in 2004, before moving on last season to the Queensland Reds.
Commenting on the signing Worcester's Director of Rugby John Brain said, "Anthony was my number one choice to fill this role. He has a good reputation as a progressive and forward thinking coach as well as a wealth of experience in Super 12 rugby. I'm confident that he has both the personality and coaching credentials to help develop this team to its potential."
Worcester face Connacht, Catania and Montpellier in the new look European Challenge Cup and will start their campaign at home to the French side on the weekend of 21 October.
