The 2009, 2011 and 2012 Heineken Cup champions are aiming to book their place back at the RDS for the tournament final on Friday, 17 May, while for Howley and Rowntree there will be the chance to assess the fitness of Jonathan Sexton and the considerable talent of his understudy, Ian Madigan, for the outside half berth.
They will also run a final check on the fitness and form of Brian O'Driscoll ahead of a possible fourth Lions tour, as well as running the rule over 2009 Lions Rob Kearney, Jamie Heaslip and Gordon D'Arcy.
And Leinster are confident that international hooker Richardt Strauss will be declared fit for consideration for the prestigious match and fully recovered from the left hand injury he suffered in the win at Zebre last weekend.
Coach Joe Schmidt will also be able to welcome back a host of players rested for the Italian trip, headed by club captain Leo Cullen and national captain Jamie Heaslip.
Madigan, Sean Cronin, Gordon D'Arcy, Cian Healy, Sean O'Brien and Mike Ross can also come into the mix again.
Leinster report pre-match ticket sales of 17,600 and the Leinster faithful will be hoping they will see the result that means they will be back at the ground for the final 20 days later.
