The former New-Zealand international back row Filo Tiatia has extended his playing contract for another 12 months with Heineken Cup quarter-finalists the Ospreys.
The 36 year old former All Black (2 appearances) joined the Welsh region in 2006 from Toyota Verblitz in Japan and was part of the 2007 Magners League winning side. The forward hopes to end his playing career with the Ospreys and move into coaching.
"I have to look to the future, which is why I've been working on developing my coaching skills while I've been here. I've been fortunate enough to get valuable experience working with Swansea RFC as defence coach last season, and I've also helped in a small capacity with the Ospreys U20 side this season as forwards coach while trying to get as many qualifications as I can", he said.
The new deal is the third Ospreys contract announcement in recent days following extensions by Lee Byrne and Shane Williams.
As part of the build-up to next month's Cardiff 2014 Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup finals weekend, ERC has joined forces with the WRU, Cardiff Blues and adidas to develop an annual grassroots community rugby programme targeting young players.
The Ulster Rugby full back, Jared Payne (No 15), has been suspended for two (2) weeks following an independent Disciplinary Hearing in Dublin arising from the Heineken Cup quarter-final match against Saracens at Ravenhill Stadium on Saturday, 5 April.
