Aurelien Rougerie, Wesley Fofana, Julein Malzieu, Julien Bonnaire, Morgan Parra and Vincent Debaty were the Clermont players on duty at Stade de France with Botha, Brad Barritt, Owen Farrell, Matt Stevens and Charlie Hodgson the Sarries players in the England squad.
"Clermont have big physical pack along with a hugely talented and dangerous back-line," said Botha.
"We missed out in the Heineken Cup last season and we are really focusing on the tournament this time - we want to make the most of this tremendous opportunity to do something special in Europe.
"Of course it will be a tough challenge, and we certainly have to get some things right that let us down against Harlequins.
"We failed in the physicality department in the first half in particular at Wembley and we cannot afford anything similar against Clermont so it is vital we stop their big men from getting over the gain-line.
"There were quite a few players from both clubs in the Six Nations match in Paris last month but now we are playing for our clubs and the Heineken Cup is a massive tournament with the winner meeting either Leinster Rugby or Cardiff Blues in the semi-finals."
