And ahead of the west country side's back-to-back clashes against Heineken Cup Champions Leinster, Davis has believes the players and coaches at the Recreation Ground need to look hard at themselves.
"It was a bitter pill to swallow," said Davis after his side's 16 v 13 defeat to Sale on Saturday.
"We've all got to look hard at ourselves - coaches included - because the performances we are putting in at the moment aren't of a standard that's expected at Bath Rugby.
"It's our job to get things right. You get the credit when it's all going well and you expect the criticism when it's not going so well. We've got to ride this through."
"This game is definitely going to hurt us for a few days but we can't feel sorry for ourselves. We've got to crack on and prepare as best we can for Leinster."
The last time to two sides met in the tournament back in the 2005/6 season, Bath won the clash in Dublin whilst Leinster gained revenge by winning 35 v 23 at the Rec.
