"As a pack we were on edge this week because we realised we were coming to a place that has a very good set-piece. We had to stand-up in that area and we did," said Davie
"We dealt with their driving line-out very well and we were clever enough in the scrums. The big thing about this year has been belief - belief that we can come to places like this and win.
"We know the level of intensity we have to bring to compete at the top end of Europe and we managed that. But we know we have to keep it going.
"We play a brand of rugby that is all about running with the ball, but we were excellent without the ball at Northampton. I'm delighted with the performance.
"We knew we had to be on top of our game, and start strong, and we went at them from the first whistle. Our set piece was better than last week and we had a good week of preparation coming into this game.
"It is a pretty big result against a side of the quality of Saints - a big scalp for us. But this is a quality group and, while we are delighted with our first block of rugby, we have to take that momentum into our next block.
"We won't get carried away with this result."
