Bath bagged an incredible 29 out of a possible 30 points last term but they will have to produce an impressive performance to start that trend again at the Stade Chaban Delmas.
Gary Gold's team have lost their last two league games on the road, with their most recent reverse coming at Sale Sharks a week ago.
Bath still occupy a Premiership play-off place, though, with their three wins in five fixtures meaning they were fourth in the table prior to the European break.
Bordeaux-Begles are lower down the standings in the French Top 14 after four wins in nine attempts but their home form has been hugely impressive. Montpellier are the only team to have won in Bordeaux so far this season, with Heineken Cup heavyweights Toulouse and French Champions Castres Olympique both leaving with a loss. Oyonnax were also beaten in Bordeaux, while Bayonne were thumped 34-6 in the last round of domestic action.
The hosts are looking for their first win in Europe since December 2011, though, after they were turned over in all six fixtures last season to take their losing streak out to eight.
