The record had stood to Bristol centre Daryl Gibson, who crossed the Swansea try line at the Memorial Ground in 26 seconds in a Pool match on 15 December, 2002. That overtook the long-standing best of Xavier Garbajosa, who scored in 28 seconds of the start of Toulouse' 34-25 home triumph over Leinster in 1997.
Nalaga has turned into the hottest try scorer in recent history in the Heineken Cup and the Scarlets, in particular, must be sick of the sight of him. He scored four tries, a brace in each match, in the recent back-to-back matches against them and also scored in each fixture against the Welsh region last season to make it six tries in four matches.
He scored eight tries in nine games for Clermont as they finished as runners-up in last season's Heineken Cup final and, with four tries in as many matches this season, he has now scored 13 tries in his last 14 Heineken Cup outings.
With 22 tries in 27 matches in Europe he is now only three scores away from joining the ERC Elite 25 Try club.
