Three-time champions, Leinster Rugby, are back in the driving seat as they try to make up for missing out on the quarter-finals last season for only the second time in the past nine years. Their 19-7 home win over French champions, Castres Olympique, puts them three points clear at the top of Pool 1.
Now they face back-to-back clashes with Northampton Saints who they beat at the Millennium Stadium in the 2011 Heineken Cup final. The Saints inflicted a second successive defeat on the Ospreys and their 27-16 triumph more than make up for their first round loss in Castres.
The two clubs have met three times in the tournament and Saints are still looking to break their duck. The fact they will start with home advantage in Round 3 on Saturday, 7 December will at least give them some help.
Castres are still not out of it in third place with four points, but they will need a good return from their two games with the Ospreys if they are to threaten the top two. They will also start at home, on Friday, 6 December.
