Sale Sharks - the 2002 and 2005 European Challenge Cup champions - are blasting their way towards the 2007 / 2008 quarter-finals with another Euro title the target.
Their three Pool 4 matches so far have produce 22 tries and a maximum 15 points with the return clash with Bayonne coming at Edgeley Park on Thursday night.
"We are targeting to win the European Challenge Cup and get automatic qualification for next season's Heineken Cup," said Scottish star wing Rory Lamont after the eight-try triumph at Bayonne.
And Director of Rugby Philippe Saint Andre added: "We set out to play a quick game at Bayonne and any mistakes made were positive mistakes - we were not perfect but there was some good stuff.
"We played some good, positive rugby with both backs and forwards involved and showing good skills to play the quick game we want. Our aim is to finish top of the group.
"We have them again on Thursday and perhaps we will have the chance to change some players, giving some a rest and others their chance in the team. However, we want the continuity of playing together so we will see how things go during the week."
