The stakes will be high for Sunday's LV= Cup finalists, Harlequins and Sale Sharks, with the winners securing a place in the 2013/14 Heineken Cup.
Harlequins, who are also through to a Heineken Cup quarter-final against Munster Rugby on 7 April, will go into the decider at Sixways as slight favourites following their impressive semi-final victory over a full-strength Bath Rugby, however, Sale will have other ideas.
Appearing in a first final since winning the English Premiership in 2006, Sale got the better of league leaders and Heineken Cup quarter-finalists, Saracens, in their semi-final and now could be on the verge of turning a difficult season around with some silverware.
Currently second from bottom in the Aviva Premiership, the chance of booking of place in next season's elite European club rugby competition will be a huge incentive for Sale, but if Steve Diamond's charges were to win on Sunday and then be relegated to the Championship, they would not be able to take up one of England's places in the Heineken Cup.
"Right now I know everyone is worried about the Aviva Premiership," said fly-half, Danny Cipriani, "but we've got five games to win a couple and let's try and win a final now. Regardless of the situation, we want to get 10th or ninth and work our way up the table."
