Ulster Rugby centre, Paddy Wallace, looks certain to miss the Heineken Cup knockout stage after suffering a knee injury.
Wallace sustained an injury to his left knee in Ulsters' recent RaboDirect PRO12 match against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun.
Following a scan, it was confirmed that he has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and according to a club statement, the injury will require surgery and a significant period of rehabilitation.
Last year's defeated Heineken Cup finalists will have to do without Wallace, who has made 54 tournament appearances and has scored 101 points, for April's quarter-final against Saracens at Twickenham Stadium.
