Steve Tandy was bitterly disappointed as Ospreys crashed out of the Heineken Cup but he insists there are plenty of positives from their European campaign.
The Welsh region had to beat Leicester Tigers at the Liberty Stadium to keep their tournament hopes alive but they shared a 15-15 draw which ended their campaign.
Ospreys led for 42 minutes in Swansea thanks to the boot of Dan Biggar and a Joe Bearman try but Leicester fought back.
The Tigers grabbed quick-fire tries through Ben Youngs and Niall Morris to take the lead but Tandy took great pride in the way the Ospreys responded with a Jonathan Spratt touchdown at the death to salvage a share of the spoils.
"I'm disappointed with the result and for the players because they deserved more," said the Ospreys head coach.
"The way the represent themselves when they're wearing that shirt is something special.
"Most teams would have thrown in the towel at 15-10 but this team doesn't irrelevant who wears the shirt."
And while reflecting upon the Ospreys' Pool Two campaign the former flanker reckons there is a lot to be pleased about and believes the future is bright.
"When you look back at the Heineken Cup campaign it has been a real positive one for us, we have found out a hell of a lot about our young kids.
"We are building a team, it's well documented that we can't compete financially with some teams, but the future is bright for the Ospreys.
"It's a real deflated changing room out there but when you reflect on what happened, how players were dropping like flies and how we fought back is something to be really proud of."
The Ospreys face Benetton Treviso at Stadio Monigo on Sunday with only pride to play for.
