Gloucester Rugby are one regulation win away from qualifying for the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals - but they also have the incentive of home advantage in the last eight to spur them on in their double French tests.
They go to Stade André Moga in Round 5 to take on Raphael Ibanez's Bordeaux-Begles before ending the group stages at home to Mont de Marsan.
The four best Pool winners earn home advantage in April's quarter-finals with Bath Rugby leading that chase on 20 points, Stade Francais Paris next best on 19 and Gloucester currently another point adrift.
And Director of Rugby Nigel Davies could have more resources to call upon as several long term injury absentees have returned to full training - particularly in the back line.
Ryan Mills has yet to feature at all this season, having had knee surgery during the summer, while Jonny May hasn't played since September and Henry Trinder since the Amlin Challenge Cup fixture away at Mont de Marsan.
All three are now back in training, and Davies is glad to see them back in the mix.
"They're all very, very close," he said. "They are training with us and getting involved with contact.
"This week might be a week too soon for them all. But, after that, it'll be great to have some more options because we've been really close to the wire at times in terms of our midfield options.
"It's very exciting to have Ryan back in the mix, he is very slick, very smooth and he brings a different dimension to the back line again.
"He's got a lot to his game, he's highly skilled, very powerful, a very bright rugby player, so he ticks a lot of the boxes.
"It's a real chance to work with him properly and bring him into our team this season. But I'm sure he'll add to what we've already got."
