Glasgow Warriors have been handed a boost after Alastair Kellock signed a new three-year deal.
The Scotland lock has committed his future to the club with a contract that keeps him at Scotstoun Stadium until the end of 2015.
Glasgow have failed to win a match in this season's Heineken Cup and sit bottom of Pool Four but Kellock is determined to deliver silverware in the future.
"Over the next three or four years I have one goal and that's to help this club win silverware," said Kellock.
"It's a privilege to play for Glasgow Warriors and I'm honoured to be captain of this club.
"I'm still keen to develop as a player and learn from the coaches at Glasgow. I'm still working hard at my game, still trying to improve and I have more to give to the Warriors."
Kellock made his Heineken Cup debut for Edinburgh in the 2002-03 season and has gone on to make more than 50 European appearances
And Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend was delighted to secure his captain's services for a further three years.
"Al is an outstanding leader and ambassador for the club," said Townsend.
"But it's his on-field performances that have earned him the reward of this contract extension.
"Alastair embodies what the Warriors are all about and he will be one of the key drivers of our success in the years to come."
