London Wasps still have their destiny in their own hands and a quarter-finals place in their sights thanks to a 30-16 win at Adams Park against quarter-final rivals Bayonne.
The former winners of this tournament - they lifted the Amlin Challenge Cup in 2003 - have a four-point breathing space between themselves and Bayonne as they head into the final two games.
Bayonne will still have their own ambitions of a place in the last eight of the tournament but they are now looking for their English rivals to slip up in the final two rounds of the Pool.
Wasps are home to Rugby Mogliano and then tackle Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade in January's ties.
Tries by wing Elliott Daly and Andrea Masi earned the four points while the Dragons completed the double over Rugby Mogliano with an eight-try romp in the home leg and are banking on those back-to-back successes kick starting their stuttering season.
They have pulled level with Bayonne on 11 points but have the far harder run-in next month.
