Brian Mujati reckons Northampton Saints have made an ideal start to the season.
The English club are fighting on three fronts in the Heineken Cup, Premiership and Anglo-Welsh Cup.
They are currently second in Pool Four and face Ulster in back-to-back clashes in December
"The season's going all right," said the front row forward.
"Not too much has happened.
"We're still in Europe, we're still chasing the Premiership so so far, so good."
Mujati and Paul Doran-Jones have both been utilised heavily on the tight-head by the Saints, with the South African prop starting both Heineken Cup ties to date.
And Mujati admits the competition for the number three jersey is driving him on.
"I'm always trying," he said. "I'm trying to play at a high standard as much as I can, which is difficult, but I'm working hard at improving.
"I'm getting a bit older now, 28, so I'm getting to a point where I need to perform consistently and I'm working hard at that."
"The competition is very good. It's good for the team, it's good for the squad.
"He's a good player, an international and I think he's played well here.
"The more good players we have at the club, the better it is for us and our chances for the season."
Saints return to European action, in the first clash of their double header with Ulster, at Franklin's Gardens on December 7.
