Ospreys back row star Ryan Jones will captain Wales for a record 29th time when he leads the team out against Samoa at the Millennium Stadium on Friday night.
Jones - who has made 37 Heineken Cup appearances for the Ospreys and will be key when they face huge Pool 2 back-to-back contests against Toulouse next month - will overtake Ieuan Evans's old mark of 28 Tests as national captain and will be one of seven Ospreys players in the starting line-up.
A total of eight changes have been made to the starting line-up which went down 26-12 to Argentina last Saturday with squad captain Sam Warburton among the replacements in the five changes to the forward pack made for the visit of the South Sea Islanders.
"Ryan reaches an impressive personal milestone and it will be a huge honour for him," said Wales interim head coach Rob Howley.
"But in the context of what happened last week his and the team's priorities are about producing a performance."
And as well as going out on his own in leading Wales the most times if Wales beat Samoa Jones will take another record - this time of Howley.
The pair currently share top billing with 15 wins each as captain.
