Gloucester Rugby duo Freddie Burns and Billy Twelvetrees couild well return to Amlin Challenge Cup action next month as England internationals after receiving call-ups to join the training squad for the November Tests.
Burns has been called-up to replace Harlequins centre Jordan Turner-Hall, who is staying at his club for treatment on an inflamed knee, while Twelvetrees will be providing temporary injury cover for London Irish centre Jonathan Joseph, who is struggling with an ankle injury.
Gloucester meet London Irish in the back-to-back matches in Rounds 3 and 4 of the Amlin Challenge Cup next month. Their first clash is at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, 8 December, when Irish will be seeking to increase their one point advantage over their Premiership rivals at the top of Pool 1.
"Freddie has been playing well in the Aviva Premiership and, with Jordan needing to stay at Harlequins for treatment, we are keen to have a look at him. JJ is continuing his recovery from an ankle injury and this is a good chance to get Billy in for training," said England head coach Stuart Lancaster.
"As last week, George Robson and David Paice come in as an injury replacements for Courtney Lawes and Dylan Hartley. Both will be assessed and treated in camp and it is important that they stay with the squad as much as possible.
"We had a productive week at St George's Park and got a lot of work done. Now we are back at Pennyhill we will sharpen our focus towards Fiji on Saturday."
Lancaster will have 36 players to work with in training this week. England go on to play South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
