Toulon try scorer Steffon Armitage has admitted the French side have winning the Heineken Cup very much in their sights after picking up their second win to take control of Pool 6.
Armitage picked up a 63rd minute try in a 22-14 triumph at the Arms Park that took the Top 14 leaders five points clear of Montpellier and Sale Sharks. Toulon now face the Sharks in back-to-back games in December.
"Cardiff is a tough place to come and get a result and we knew we had to grind it out to show people we can win the tight games," said Armitage.
"Every win now helps towards a possible home quarter-final. We want to be a top contender in this tournament and that means we have to win every game to get that home advantage."
Victory gave Toulon revenge for their defeat by the Blues in the Amlin Challenge Cup final in Marseille in 2010 - they lost last year's final to Biarritz Olympique - and it made two wins in a row at the start of a Heineken Cup Pool campaign for the first time.
