Tonderai Chavhanga is poised to make a welcome return for Newport Gwent Dragons as they prepare to face Bayonne in a make-or-break Pool 3 clash at Rodney Parade on Saturday night.
The former South African wing - who scored six tries in four Tests for the Springboks - should be back following a knee operation for a must win encounter with a Bayonne side who rattled up 71 points against Rugby Mogliano in Round 1 while the Dragons left London Wasps without even a losing bonus point.
The tie will also give Wales scrum half Mike Phillips the chance to demonstrate his current form back on Welsh soil after returning to the Bayonne team last weekend.
"If we had got a win, or even a bonus point, at Wasps it would have been great but we need to beat Bayonne now to stay in the mix," said Director of Rugby Robert Beale.
"It is a tough game but it is at home and we have to win.
"I felt that the passion and commitment we asked for against Wasps was there and I have to give our players credit for digging in until the very end."
