Heineken Cup winner and former Wallabies skipper, Rocky Elsom, is set to leave Australia to further his career in Japan, according to reports.
The injury-plagued Elsom who starred for Leinster in their victorious 2008/09 Heineken Cup will be moving to Japan on a two-year deal with Kobe Steel.
He has played just three matches for the Waratahs this season and is currently struggling with a shoulder injury which will keep him on the sidelines for his team's final two Super Rugby matches but the Steelers don't expect the 29-year-old to play until October.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Elsom will, however, not just be playing for Kobe as the Japanese club are set to grant him permission to play for a European club between January and July in 2013 and 2014.
