The Ireland regular has been a rock upon which Leinster's European conquering foundations have been built since joining from Harlequins in the summer of 2009 but he's expecting all out war with some familiar faces in the Twickenham showpiece.
"Every time you play Ulster you have to front up to their pack and this weekend's going to be no exception," said Ross, who moved to Leinster just after their first Heineken Cup triumph but started all nine games in last year's title-winning campaign.
"Any time we've played them it's really been like hand-to-hand combat out there and we're not expecting anything different. I'm sure they'll be coming for us with everything they've got, but that's what finals are about.
"I'm quite familiar with two of their front-row lads from the Irish camp. I've roomed with Tom Court most of the time we're in camp so we're pretty good friends already - it'll be interesting looking across the scrum at him.
"Rory Best's a very good scrummager, Tom's a very good scrummager and John Afoa's been a revelation since he's arrived. I'm expecting a massive battle on Saturday."
While Leinster have reached two of the previous three finals prior to tomorrow's clash, Ulster haven't featured in the competition's climax for 13 years.
That statistic doesn't mean Ross and co think the game is already won but the 32-year-old does believe it could give his team a slight advantage come 5pm on Saturday.
"Nearly all of our team have been in this position before," added Ross.
"The experience of the big day and knowing what to expect can be the difference between winning and losing."
