Ulster Rugby head coach Brian McLaughlin has retained only five of his starting line-up from last weekend's Heineken Cup semi-final victory over Edinburgh Rugby for Saturday night's trip to Munster.
Andrew Trimble, Paddy Jackson, Declan Fitzpatrick, Dan Tuohy and Willie Faloon are the only players retained from the Aviva Stadium triumph as key players like skipper Johann Muller, Ruan Pienaar, Rory Best and Stephen Ferris are rested for the Heineken Cup final
Ulster's early return to Thomond Park, where they won a thrilling Heineken Cup quarter-final last month, is bound to lead to a whiff of revenge hanging in the air. The Belfast-based side still have an outside chance of making the final four in the RaboDirect PRO12 tournament, but they would need to win in Limerick with a bonus point and hope other results go their way.
"We are reliant on other results but we will approach the game trying to do our job and we will wait to hear other results coming through. Obviously the ideal outcome is to get a semi-final spot but we realise it's unlikely," said McLaughlin.
"Munster are always tough opponents, particularly at home. But the Heineken Cup quarter-final win down there proved that we can do it. We set the bar very high that day and I expect the boys to go out and defend our reputation."
