Allan Jacobsen believes the impact of the record-breaking crowd at Murrayfield helped Edinburgh secure a last four spot in the Heineken Cup.
Edinburgh beat four-time champions Toulouse 19-14 on Saturday to become the first Scottish side to reach the Heineken Cup semi-final stage.
They were roared on by 37,881 supporters in the Scottish capital and they played their part in the success according to Jacobsen.
"It's impossible to measure the effect the fans had on the content - but it sure was massive," he told the Daily Record.
"It doesn't get any better than this!
"I told the guys in the dressing room beforehand that it was our big opportunity to make history and the supporters helped us do just that.
"The crowd were unreal, both in terms of numbers and the noise they made. We had some great crowds and great games in the past but this was another level altogether.
"It was like an international. In fact the noise was even louder - amazing."
Reward for Edinburgh is a trip to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin to meet Ulster in the last four on Saturday April 28.
