Reddan focused on Leinster after Ireland heartbreak

The scrum-half was hauled off after just 48-minutes against England. Ireland were trailing by just six-points but quickly capitulated to a final scoreline of 30-9.

"I was surprised (to be taken off) and I felt very happy with what was going on, so you get the initial shock but you just have to deal with it over the next few weeks," Reddan told the Irish Independent.

"But that's what happened and I have no real control over that."

Reddan will make his first start for Leinster since the Twickenham defeat, against Munster on Friday night.

He reckons the crunch encounter will be ideal preparation for the Heineken Cup quarter-final clash with Cardiff Blues on April 7, but insists Munster are favourites to win the competition.

"We're away from home against the team who came first in the group stages from probably the toughest group," added Reddan.

"People don't talk about it but they are probably favourites for the Heineken Cup, given that form. It's a very daunting task but we'll go down there and give it a good go.

"We are entering a period of the season that is a tipping point and you want to be going into that at your best, so a win this weekend would be a massive boost and a loss would make it harder.

"Either way, the next two weeks are a big challenge regardless of the result."
