Biarritz Olympique look set to go into their Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final against London Wasps at Adams Park on Saturday, 7 April without international centre Damien Traille.
The 32-year-old Traille, who won the last of his 87 French caps as a replacement in the 2011 Rugby World Cup final, injured his foot in last weekend's win in Lyon and will miss this weekend's home Top 14 clash with Heineken Cup quarter-finalists ASM Clermont Auvergne.
The club also expects Traille to miss the game against Wasps and are hoping he will recover in time to play in the Basque derby against Bayonne on 14 April.
Traille is a veteran of 74 European games for Pau and Biarritz in both tournaments and picked up an ERC Elite award this season when he made his 50th Heineken Cup appearance. Biarritz were one of three Heineken Cup clubs to qualify for the last eight in the Amlin Challenge Cup as runners-up in their Pool.
Back in 2000, Traille won the Amlin Challenge Cup with Pau when they beat Castres Olympique 34-21 in Toulouse. Since then he has appeared in the 2006 Heineken Cup final with Biarritz, when the French side were beaten by Munster Rugby in Cardiff.
