"I was very disappointed to finish the Six Nation with such average results. So it is good to focus on something else moving forward and starting again with a new competition. When you are a professional rugby player it is your daily life, you must be able to turn the page and focus on your new goals," admitted Poux.
"But Edinburgh are a very dangerous team. They have the ability to keep possession and play through a lot of phases - it is very offensive rugby and they can beat anyone.
"We could have lost the Six Nations match against Scotland and they are improving a lot. I watched several of Edinburgh's games during the Pool stages and against Racing Metro they showed a lot of power - and when the Racing players were exhausted they scored in the last minutes to win the game.
"The Heineken Cup is very important for Toulouse and every season the knock-out stages are a goal for us and every season we must be present at this stage of the tournament. We are targeting this quarter-final game against Edinburgh - it is a crucial one for Toulouse."
Toulouse have won 10 or their 11 European meetings with Edinburgh since they first met back in 1998. Their one defeat came in the opening Pool match of the 2003/04 season when they opened the defence of their title at Meadowbank and went down 23-16.
Poux came off the bench in that game and will be packing down against one of the home heroes from that great occasion, Allan Jacobsen. Chris Paterson and Mike Blair also played in that game.
