Two-time Heineken Cup winner, Brian O'Driscoll, could yet feature in Leinster Rugby's quarter-final on 7 April.
Leinster coach, Joe Schmidt, has said he is optimistic that O'Driscoll could be in contention for the RaboDirect Pro12 games against the Ospreys on 23 March, and against Munster on 31 March. With that timeline in mind, he could then be fit enough to play against Cardiff Blues at the Aviva Stadium the following weekend.
O'Driscoll is working his way back to full fitness following an operation to correct a long standing neck and shoulder problem. His last game was Ireland's World Cup quarter-final defeat to Wales last October.
"It is going really well . . . but the difficulty for us is to ascertain what Brian's level of fitness is," Schmidt told The Irish Times. "He's been back on the training pitch but not fully involved so when we get back training next week there will probably be another week where he would get to do everything but the contact.
"If that works out he might go into contact in preparation for Ospreys or we might wait one more week and let him go into the Munster game after some contact."
