Rory Best of Heineken Cup quarter-finalists, Ulster Rugby, has been named as Ireland captain for the RBS 6 Nations game against Scotland.
In the absence of Munster captain Paul O'Connell, Ulster's hooker will lead out the team for the third time on Saturday at the Aviva Stadium. Best, whose brother Simon also captained Ireland, has previously captained Ireland in wins over Canada and the USA in 2009.
Munster's Donncha Ryan will start his first RBS 6 Nations match having featured as a replacement in five previous games in the championship. The Munster and Ulster representatives in the line-up will be on opposite sides when Munster take on Ulster in the all-Irish Heineken Cup quarter-final at Thomond Park on Sunday, 8 April.
Meanwhile, Leinster's Eoin Reddan will partner Jonathan Sexton in place of the injured Conor Murray.
