Toulouse skipper, Thierry Dusautoir, once again captains the side and he is joined by club colleagues, Maxime Medard, Vincent Clerc, William Servat and Louis Picamoles. Prop Jean-Baptiste Poux, as well as Yoann Maestri and Lionel Beauxis are replacements.
The Clermont contingent to face the Italians at the Stade de France is made up of new cap and rising star, Wesley Fofana, Aurelien Rougerie, Julien Malzieu,Vincent Debaty and Julien Bonnaire.
Four-time winners, Toulouse, travel to Edinburgh for their Heineken Cup quarter-final on Saturday, 7 April while Clermont are also on the road when they take on English champions, Saracens, at Vicarage Road on Sunday, 8 April.
New Head Coach, Philippe Saint-André revealed that he doesn't expect Fofana to be overawed by the big occasion.
He said: "When you see the players in training and off the pitch, you understand that Rougerie has a huge importance in the group. He's the man who reassures, the dad of the backline and we wanted to start with him. He plays for his club with Fofana and we chose to go with the familiarity.
"We expect to Wesley to bring his enthusiasm and freshness, especially in defence. He has great pace and is elegant. I don't want to put extra pressure on him. He needs to show at international level what he proves every week in the Top 14. He's one of the few players who hasn't lost his place since the return of the internationals. And that shows France is open to youngsters."
In the pack Saint-André sprang a surprise by picking Debaty over the experienced Poux, but the former Sale, Gloucester and Toulon coach boss believes Debaty has demonstrated this season enough to prove he will cope against Italy star Martin Castrogiovanni.
Saint-André added: "Everyone knows Castrogiovanni's attributes. He's one of the best tightheads in the world and Vincent player well against him for Clermont. We believe in him. Now we just need to see it on the pitch. It's an opportunity for him and he knows what we expect of him.
"He's very good with the ball in hand, we want to see how he is in the set-piece. Jean-Baptiste Poux is on the bench. He hasn't played for a fortnight and covers both sides. He's been very good for France at loosehead but can spend half an hour at tighthead at the end of a game."
