Ulster Rugby became the seventh club in the history of the Heineken Cup to play 100 tournament games when they signed off a highly successful Pool 4 campaign at Stade Marcel Michelin last weekend.
This season's Heineken Cup Ambassador, Raphael Ibanez, a tournament winner with London Wasps, presented Ulster Branch President, Laurence Caldwell, with a plaque before the game against ASM Clermont Auvergne to mark the club's 100th appearance in the tournament.
Ulster played their first match back in November 1995 against Cardiff at the Arms Park with a team that included Gary Longwell, Neil Doak and Jonny Bell, all now involved in the coaching set-up.
Ulster were on the wrong end of a 46-6 defeat that day, a far cry from their performance in their 100th game last Saturday in Clermont where they lost narrowly 19-15 but still progressed to the quarter-finals where they will meet Irish rivals Munster Rugby.
