With the quarter-final line-up now set in stone following a breathtaking weekend of European action, ticket sales for the 2012 Heineken Cup final are already close to the 35,000 mark.
With five countries represented in the last eight, expectant fans from Munster, Leinster, Ulster, Saracens, Edinburgh, Clermont, Toulouse and Cardiff Blues have been making their purchases with nearly 2,000 tickets sold in the past 24 hours for the high-profile occasion at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday, 19 May (kick-off: 5.00pm).
With Saracens having qualified for the knock-out stages, it appears that many London-based rugby supporters are also booking their places for one of the world's great rugby events, while the potential for two Irish clubs reaching the final has given Ireland's fans an extra incentive to secure a ticket for the European showpiece.
Ticket prices for the Heineken Cup final start from £35 and with the Amlin Challenge Cup final taking place at the nearby Twickenham Stoop less than 24 hours earlier, fans have the opportunity of experiencing a unique festival of top-class European club rugby close to the English capital.
Tickets are also on sale for the Amlin Challenge Cup decider and with Harlequins having secured their place in the quarter-finals as one of the Heineken Cup pool runners-up, last season's champions could find themselves in the unique position of trying to retain the trophy on famililar ground at the Twickenham Stoop.
