Centre Jason Shoemark believes Exeter Chiefs have what it takes to book themselves a place in the last eight of the Amlin Challenge Cup this weekend.
The Aviva Premiership club play host to French Top 14 side Perpignan at Sandy Park on Saturday knowing either a draw or a victory will be enough to see Rob Baxter's side reach the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Shoemark has played an integral role in Exeter's impressive rise and was part of the side that only just fell short of reaching a European quarter-final and finished eighth in the Premiership last term.
The 30-year-old New Zealander says he and his team-mates are determined to keep the Chiefs on the up - and that includes looking to overcome Perpignan in what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter in Devon.
"It's a massive game," declared the former Highlanders and Blues back.
"Back in November we were disappointed to go down to Perpignan and only lose by a point or two, so it's a great opportunity for us to get revenge on that and at the same time book ourselves a quarter-final spot.
"We've had two good wins and the club is definitely on the rise. Everybody is pushing hard for spots right now and we all want to be involved in these big games.
"I think they were champions over in France not too long ago, so they are a big side. That said, it's a great opportunity for us to play in front of our home crowd and hopefully get a win.
"As I said, they are a class side; they've got some big forwards and some exciting backs; but you can worry about too much about them. Instead we perhaps need to worry more about ourselves and force our game plan on them. And if we play well, I think we can come away with the win."
