Edinburgh fly-half Phil Godman has been drafted into Scotland's squad for the opening two matches of the Six Nations on the back of his match-winning performance in the Heineken Cup.
Godman was the hero of Edinburgh's 27-24 Heineken Cup victory over Racing Metro in Paris last weekend, courtesy of a last-gasp drop-goal, and has been added to the squad for the injured Ruaridh Jackson.
Jackson, the Glasgow fly-half, has still not yet returned to action following the leg injury that forced him off the field during his side's PRO12 match against the Scarlets earlier this month.
Godman, who won the last of his 23 caps in the 2010 Six Nations against England, has recovered from a serious knee injury suffered some 17 months ago and has only just made his return to full fitness.
He is expected to feature in Edinburgh's squad for their vital Heineken Cup clash against London Irish at Murrayfield on Sunday afternoon as Michael Bradley's men go in search of a fifth win in six group games.
"You always think about getting back into it for the club but also about playing for Scotland as well," said Godman.
"It's just great to be back playing for Edinburgh and to be back involved with Scotland."
Scotland's Six Nations opener is against England at Murrayfield on Saturday, February 4.
