Ulster will be without centre Darren Cave for their final Heineken Cup pool tie away to Clermont Auvergne this weekend.
Cave, who has played in all five of Ulster's European clashes so far this season sustained a ligament injury in his foot during his side's impressive Pool 4 victory over Leicester Tigers.
A scan on Monday has revealed the extent of the damage and he has been ruled out for up-to six weeks.
Ulster lead Pool 4 by three points from Clermont Auvergne and the two sides meet at the Stade Marcel Michelin on Saturday afternoon.
The clash will be Ulster's 100th game in the Heineken Cup and they head to France knowing they require at least a draw (or a losing bonus point whilst denying Clermont a try-bonus point) to top Pool 4..
