Vern Cotter set his Clermont Auvergne side the task of reaching a home quarter-final in Heineken Cup at the start of the season and he knows that they need a victory on the road this weekend against Aironi to keep those hopes alive.
Clermont find themselves third in Pool 4 after four rounds of Heineken Cup action. Ulster and Leicester Tigers sit above them, but only three points separate the three sides with two matches remaining.
Cotter's team face Aironi this weekend before hosting Ulster the following Saturday and he knows nothing but a victory in northern Italy will do for his squad.
"At the beginning of the season, our goal was to get a home quarter final," he said
"And we know to reach this goal we have to win and score at least 4 tries. But we also know that isn't going to be easy and we are prepared for what Aironi will throw at us.
"We have watched Aironi evolve and they are getting better and better, especially from their time in the Celtic league.
"They play very well at home and will cause everyone problems there.
"We must go in Italy with the same spirit that we showed against Toulon: by being enterprising, ambitious and with the desire to score many tries.
"We know we have to be careful and we have to concentrate and focus."
