Cardiff Blues captain Paul Tito believes the next two weekends will make or break his side's season.
The Blues sit level on points with Edinburgh at the helm of Pool 2 after four rounds of Heineken Cup action. They travel to London Irish this weekend before concluding their Pool fixtures by welcoming Racing Metro to Cardiff City Stadium the following Sunday and Tito is calling for two big performances.
"It's up to us to go out there and win our two remaining games and try to leave things in our own hands," he said.
"If you would have said at the start of this campaign that we would be at this stage with three wins and a losing bonus point we would have taken that.
"We are in a strong position to kick on, but need to up our game ahead of going to Reading.
"Every away game in the Heineken Cup is tricky, we know that, but our away form has been good and we are looking forward to going up there and putting in a big performance.
Tito was part of the Blues squad which tasted European success in 2010 when they beat Toulon to lift the Amlin Challenge Cup. But the Welsh region hasn't featured in a knock-out game in the Heineken Cup since 2009 and that is something Tito is looking to change.
"Reaching a quarter-final would be huge, we haven't been there for a couple of years now and we are battling on to try and reach that target," added the second-row.
"This is the best club competition in the world so getting to the last eight would be a big thing for us, but we know that's still a way off.
"We know two big performances are needed before we get to that point."
The Blues have had their fair share of injury woes this season especially over the festive period, but the outlook is looking more promising according to Tito.
"We had our injury problems but we are there or there about now to be honest a few more should be back and we will be looking good," he added.
