Edinburgh Rugby have today secured the services of versatile forward Sean Cox for a further two years, keeping him at Murrayfield until 2014.
The 26-year-old moved to Edinburgh from English Premiership club Sale Sharks on a one-year deal in the summer and has featured seven times so far this season, including in his side's Heineken Cup victory over London Irish in Round 1.
Now, with the season nearing its half-way point, head coach Michael Bradley has moved to retain the Manchester-born enforcer for another two seasons.
"Sean has been a very good professional in terms of his attitude, his training and work rate," said Bradley.
"He's a good organiser, leader and communicator on the pitch and he's quite a physical player too so all of these attributes led us to the conclusion that he's a good fit for Edinburgh Rugby and we're delighted that he's signed for another two years.
"He's very important to the future of the club."
Edinburgh are unbeaten in Pool 2 after the first two rounds of European action and they face Cardiff Blues in back-to-back games in December.
