Former European Champions Leicester look set to be without second-row Geoff Parling for the next two rounds of Heineken Cup action after he was ruled out until the New Year.
Parling picked up the injury in his side's victory over Ulster at Welford Road at the weekend and it has been revealed that he has strained medial knee ligaments.
"It's not too bad so we hope it will only be around four to six weeks," director of rugby Richard Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester.
Parling only return to action with the Tigers at the start of October after nine months out with another knee injury, but Cockerill was keen to dismiss any link between the two problems.
"Thankfully, it has nothing to do with his old injury," he added.
"It's just unfortunate and purely bad luck. We seem to be having that a little bit too often at the moment but Geoff will be fine and he will hopefully be fit within the next six weeks."
The Tigers currently top Pool 4 after two rounds of action but Parling will miss back-to-back games against ASM Clermont Auvergne in Rounds 3 and 4.
