Living in the red zone

With no fewer than six matches decided with nail-biting finishes in the dying seconds. In Round 1 the most dramatic finish came at Thomond Park as Munster went through 40 phases before giving Ronan O'Gara the chance to drop for glory and a 23-21 win in the 84th minute in Pool 1.

O'Gara did it again in Castres in Round 2 with another match-winning drop goal as the clock went over 80 minutes.

Another Irish outside half, Jonny Sexton, did the trick for reigning champions Leinster in the 80th minute at Stade de la Mosson to snatch a 16-16 draw against new boys Montpellier in Round 1, while Richie Gray's injury time try for Glasgow Warriors against Bath Rugby in the same round earned the Scottish side a dramatic 26-21 triumph at Firhill Arena.
But the most dramatic finish came in Round 2 at Murrayfield where Edinburgh completed the greatest comeback in Heineken Cup history to beat Racing Metro 48-47.

A 77th minute try from Tim Visser, and a 78th minute conversion from Greig Laidlaw, secured the victory in what was another late, late show.

And what about the cool nerve displayed by Ospreys youngster Matthew Morgan in hammering home a face-saving penalty in the 79th minute at Benetton Treviso to earn a 26-26 draw. For the record, it was the home side's first draw in 80 Heineken Cup ties.
