Biarritz Olympique claimed their first win in any competition since the end of September yesterday when they beat English Champions Saracens in the Heineken Cup and wing Takudzwa Ngwenya is hoping the victory can kick start their European campaign.
Ngwenya scored his 14
th try in European rugby to help his side to a 15 v 10 win over Saracens and even though the visitors left with a bonus-point courtesy of a late try, Ngwenya was keen to focus on the victory and where his side can go from here.
"It's nice to get a victory and it's been a long time since we have won," said Ngwenya.
"We have been playing well but have made costly errors like at the Ospreys.
"So it was good to get the win especially on home turf and get the Heineken Cup back on track.
"I don't know why but we always seem to perform better in the Heineken Cup than in the Top 14.
"We have to target a bonus point against Benetton Treviso (the sides meet in the back-to-back games in December) because Saracens did that so we have to match it.
"We have to get as many points as we can before we play Saracens because they are the team to beat right now.
"To give that try away in the last minute was devastating but at least we got the win and that's what counts.
"It's such a tough group ands its important we pick up as many points as we can, we need to be getting bonus points both home and away.
"We watched Treviso play Saracens and they are big boys and are very aggressive but I believe they will crack if we pressure them for 80 minutes."
