Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall praised his side's spirit and character after they scored a late try in the south of France to secure themselves losing bonus-point again Biarritz Olympique.
The French side held a 15 v 3 lead until the last minute of match when Alex Goode crossed for the visitors. Owen Farrel's conversion brought the English Champions into losing-bonus point range and McCall was happy enough to come away from the Parc des Sports Aguilera with some points under his belt.
"Of course we are very disappointed to have lost, we never like losing, but the history of this competition shows you have to come away with something," he said.
"At 15 v 3 down in France with a vocal crowd behind their team, its easy to fold but we didn't and we could have scored more tries.
"We showed a lot of character and skill in the final quarter to come away with the try
"The rules of the competition state that if we finish level it goes to the head to head between the two teams so the bonus-point could be important at the end of the pool stage.
"It was a very physical match and this competition means everything to Biarritz - this is their season.
"Our set piece didn't function as well as it normally does and we were under pressure in that area.
"And we were disappointed with the tires they scored. They were two long range efforts where we lost concentration having not been under pressure.
Saracens sit at the top of in Pool 5 and face back to back games against the Ospreys in Rounds 3 and 4 in December.
