ERC can confirm that the Federation Française de Rugby (FFR) has withdrawn its application to host the 2014 Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup finals, due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the availability of the Stade de France.
Bath are bottom of the Pool after the 26-21 defeat to Glasgow and know they have to beat their French visitors to keep their hopes of a place in the knockout stages of the tournament alive.
The Premiership side have a mixed recent record at home in Europe but have won 11 of their 18 games against French opposition. Montpellier have played Bath twice in Europe and lost both games but this will be their first Heineken Cup game away from home.
The French side, who were the talk of last season's Top 14 in France, are in their first season of Heineken Cup rugby but will be still wondering how they threw away a home victory against the reigning champions last weekend.
