Gloucester captain Luke Narraway believes his Cherry and Whites side have the talent to take on Toulouse at the Stade Ernest-Wallon on Sunday but knows the forwards need to create a platform for the side to play.
Bryan Redpath's team travel to the four-time Heineken Cup Champions in their opening European encounter before facing compatriots Harlequins at Kingsholm the following weekend.
And Narraway knows his side need create a fortress at home in the competition but first of all is targeting an upset in the south of France.
"Obviously Toulouse are one of the best sides in Europe, but we are heading over there confident," said Narraway.
"Ever since I have been at Gloucester we have tried to play an attractive game.
"We have an exciting backline with experienced guys alongside youth but we have to make sure upfront that we are mentally switched on over in Toulouse.
"If we are, and can get enough ball to give to the backs, they will attack. So as a pack we have to deliver for the backs.
"We haven't got the luxury of having a squad like Toulouse, but we do have a 15 that will trade blows with anyone. We just need a little luck with injuries along the way.
"At the moment squad is looking good, the Internationals have come back and fitted in well so it's good in the camp at the moment and we cant wait for the game."
