Sale Sharks have announced the signing of Scotland lock Richie Gray on a three-year deal which will begin next season.
The 22-year-old will join the English Premiership club next season from Glasgow Warriors. He will become the latest in a number of top Scottish players to join Sale and will link up with compatriots Fraser McKenzie, Richie Vernon and Alasdair Dickinson at Edgeley Park.
Gray has made nine Heineken Cup appearances for the Warriors in two seasons and Sale's executive director of sport Steve Diamond was delighted to announce the signing.
"Richie is the first to be announced of two who have already agreed to join us," he said.
"Richie is only 22 but has the makings of a world class forward and he has been courted by a number of Premiership clubs and several French clubs.
"But he has bought into our vision at Sale Sharks and wants to spend the next part of his career in Manchester."
Sale kick off their 2011/12 European campaign with a trip to the Stade Amédée Domenech to face Brive in the Amlin Challenge Cup.
