Wasps move into Europe without Edwards

While new director of rugby Dai Young gets set to take his side into Europe with a trip to Bordeaux to face Bordeaux-Begles in a tough Pool 3 clash on Saturday, Edwards will be at home reflecting on the seven major trophies Wasps' won during his reign.

Edwards, whose contract as the Wales defence coach ended after their fourth place finish at the Rugby World Cup, received a standing ovation from the 8,000 crowd at Adams Park.

"It was a bit emotional, but the game is about the players, not the coaches. I've had some magnificent players to coach during my 10 years here," said Edwards.

"The Heineken Cup wins stand out for me because for a club relatively small in stature to beat the big French and Irish teams like Toulouse and Munster was a tremendous effort."
